  • An excellent crater to visualize what it looked like soon after the most recent eruptions, very little erosion. Crater is small and hiking can be an hour or more or longer. Convenient viewing area...  more »
  • There are trails around the crater if you are adventuresome. We were worn out, so we just stayed at the rim, but it was still an amazing sight.  more »

  • A fantastic place. Worth the drive! You feel like you're the only person on the planet.
  • Ubehebe Crater is definitely worth the drive to the northern end of the valley. - There is NO water💧, restrooms🚽, or cell service📶 (you'll have to drive 15-20 minutes before you get a signal). - You can venture down into the crater if you're willing to slide down the gravel path and then climb back out again 🥵. (Also, DO NOT try to climb out of the crater any other place other than the path, my friend tried and nearly died.) - You can take a walk around the rim of the crater and get a scenic view of the valley. - The parking lot and road are well paved, however all the trails are gravel.
