We had gone to Defiance years ago to see this property but turned back when we found out tours of the Boone home were $20 per person! Now, the property is run by St Charles County, and we paid less...

We were recommended to go here by a guide at a national monument nearby. I'm glad she told us about it. We didn't know much about Daniel Boone, but we learned a lot about not only him and his family but also the time period. They have a village there that would be cool to return for one of the outdoor events.

We went to the maple syrup festival. What a fantastic classic blast from the past! It’s cool to lean the manual way to do things, the way most things were done in Daniel Boon time. They had sap dripping, syrup boiling, pancake tasting, and a lot more. St Charles does a great job with its parks and events.
