Cobbler Mountain~ Home to the "Little Winery That Could"~ is where the fairies live in big poplar trees, children run barefoot to Thumb Run Creek and stories of the wise Grandfathers and kind Grandmothers are shared around the Grand Fire Circle at the foot of the forest. A legendary dreamer, Grandfather McCarthy, discovered Big Cobbler Mountain in 1959. His love of creatures and exploring has been preserved and passed down to his children and grandchildren. Come hike a wooded trail. Open a bottle of imagination. Sip handcrafted wines with the makers. Find a little fantasy under the old apple tree. Who knows who you will meet along the way?
Cobbler Mountain Cellars Reviews
I purchased the Traditional Jeffersonian at Total wine the cider. The taste is great, but the bottled version just foams up really bad and that makes it barely drinkable. I am a Virginian and I love craft ciders but this one has to fall forwards the bottom of my list
Second star is for the server, Amy. Loved the cider, won't go back. Owner requires you to take your own trash along for "picnics (two 1oz chip bags and two paper plates)." The help was friendly but the owner was not (see above), and the cider was really expensive ($8/cup, which should be a pint but pours mostly were 12-14oz). All in all: we should have listened to the reviews and found another place. The property is beautiful, but no smoking, no trash cans, expensive, unfriendly owner and limited outdoor/indoor seating. To the owner: I'm sorry to be honest; but after a $104 bill and frozen pretzels that you could have cooked separately and made the money worth it, we won't come back and you shouldn't be a business. Your house massive and lavish and it doesn't scream "you'll get what you pay for." Instead it screams "we won't have commercial internet, trash or water services, and you'll pay our mortgage with the excess cost of what you buy from us." Service from servers: 10/10 Establishment: 2/10 ( one point for beautiful property and dog friendliness)
