Denver Union Station is the main railway station and central transportation hub in Denver, Colorado. It is located at 17th and Wynkoop Streets in the present-day LoDo district and includes the historic terminal building, a train shed, a 22-gate underground bus facility, and light rail station. A station was first opened on the site on June 1, 1881, but burnt down in 1894. The current structure was erected in two stages, with an enlarged central portion completed in 1914.

In 2012, the station underwent a major renovation transforming it into the centerpiece of a new transit-oriented mixed-use development built on the site's former railyards. The station house reopened in the summer of 2014, hosting the 112-room Crawford Hotel, several restaurants and retailers, and a train hall.

  • Couldn’t resist checking out the Union Station today. It’s a beautiful building with much historical significance. Enjoyed myself in the tattered cover bookstore and even purchased some postcards...  more »
  • We stopped in to look around and did not eat here. However there looked to be several good dining options and nice courtyard seating. Some cute shops too.  more »

  • Cant really say enough about the public transportation of Denver. Very clean and well-maintained. Union Station drops you right in the middle of many things to do downtown and the trip to get to and from the station are very easy. The bus system is also very reliable and we enjoyed riding the system everywhere we needed to go within the city. It's just a shame it's not utilized more than it is.
  • Denver's public transit is spot on. Really enjoyed taking the fam to Union Station at Christmas to see the decor! Great coffee down there too.
