Buford Highway Farmers Market, Doraville

#21 of 211 in Shopping in Georgia
For twenty-five years, Buford Highway Farmers Market has been in the business of providing that…and more! When we opened our doors, we specialized in all types of Asian foods, especially Korean. Since then we have grown and diversified our offerings to include foods from Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, West Africa, Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Eastern Europe and more. You’ll find more ethnic food varieties under one roof than any other single-location grocery store in Atlanta.

One visit to our store and you’ll appreciate the exposure to different cultures and the foods that are unique to their countries. With one of the largest fresh produce departments in Atlanta, you’ll find everything from standard fruits and vegetables to many that you’ve never seen before. Seasonal specialties, exotics, unusual varieties, select organics and locally favorites can be found every day. Our seafood department specializes in whole fish, an extensive variety of ocean and fresh water fish (farm-raised and wild caught), shrimp and whenever available, live fish such as main lobsters, gulf blue crabs, rainbow trout and more. Specialties within our meat department include ethnic and variety meat cuts…think of it as a head-to-tail approach! You’ll find ox tails, tripe, Korean-style certified angus beef short ribs and many other cuts you won’t often find in typical grocery stores.

We invite you to experience specialty food shopping that is a world unto itself. More than a grocery store, Buford Highway Farmers Market is like a world-wide trip where you can experience local favorites without ever leaving home. There’s something new and different every week, so you’ll want to return time and again to capture it all!

  • We love the Dekalb market for what it is, but Buford has quickly become my favorite due to the more grocery store layout but still with the market feel. I think Dekalb has more veggies, it Buford...  more »
  • I had lived in Atlanta for almost 40 years and this place was one of my go too places for hard to find food items. Now living in Tampa I really miss this place, and there is a lot to miss ! If you...  more »
  • I have found the selection here to be a lot wider than the other popular international market in the metro area. BHFM has the best selection of hard-to-find international items. Their meat and seafood is very good, and the prices cannot be beat! This is the place I go for many of the sauces, vinegars, seasonings and other items I love to use in my cooking. It’s usually very busy during the weekends, but not anything overwhelming since the market is the size of a Costco. I have spent many happy hours here exploring all of the different things for sale. This market is a not-to-be missed experience for the adventurous food lover.
  • I heard this place was better than East Ponce, so I'll compare. Hands down, the produce price and variety is way better. This place is more authentic somehow with sections that call to certain ethnicities. This makes shopping more fun here. It's not as busy as East Ponce. I believe East Ponce probably has a better seasoning/herb section and is probably more "upscale". I'll have to check up the wine section next for more comparison. In summary, I really liked this Buford highway Farmer's market!!
