  This is on federal Ozark National Forest land, but is administered as a Arkansas State Recreation Area. Well off of the beaten path, it remionds one of being in the Smokies. I've been camping here.....  more »

  We were in site 24. The camp hosts were great. The water was cold and nice. The hike to the waterfall was great. Awesome camp site.

  I have been coming here since I was a kid, and it never gets old. The swimming hole is plenty deep, even when the water is low. There are rocks to climb and jump off of (about 10 feet above the water), nice restrooms, a pavilion, picnic tables, etc. It only costs $3 for the day, but more if you want to camp at one of the campsites. I know over 15 different swimming spots in Arkansas, and this one is still my favorite. My only complaint is that you cannot bring your dog (although a lot of people still do).
