  • I loved their tasting room, which stands out in several ways: tables and banquettes (rather than standing at the bar), and a small snack with tasting (pesto without nuts on crackers, goat without lactose, dark chocolate). The service is impeccable, the description of the wines on the sheet is detailed. They also exhibit local pottery. The wines are really good - the reds are surprising for this region which is especially favorable to whites. This was our first walk around Lake Keuka and we were not disappointed. Very nice view of the lake as a bonus. Dogs are allowed.

  • What I loved about the wine tasting at McGregor is that you're seated, and they offer (tiny) free cheese, cracker with dip and dark chocolate with your tasting. If it's not crowded, you might be able ...  more »

  • Summary: Quaint, beautiful tasting room with the best view and most unique red wines in the area. Wine: The whites that we tried were OK, but they had some really cool red wines made with grapes we’ve never heard of (some Russian varietals) that were AMAZING. Probably some of the best reds we tried our whole trip. We would highly recommend getting your hands on some of those reds if you can find them. Ambiance/View: Probably the best view of Keuka Lake from any place we visited! The tastings don’t happen at a normal bar, but at little tables, which was a nice home-y feel to the experience. They also have a restaurant which seemed to have a bigger space and number of tables than the tasting area. In the middle of the tasting area is a cute store filled with locally made items for sale if you want to do some shopping. Education: The tasting room staff were very friendly and did share a bit of history to go with our wines, but the vast majority of the information shared with us was printed and in a binder in the middle of the tasting table. This wasn’t my favorite way to consume that kind of information, but my husband loved that he didn’t have to bother someone to learn to his heart’s content. Other: The tastings here come with a snack plate, which was unique and quite cool! We enjoyed our plate a lot, and even ended up purchasing some of the snack items to go with the wine we bought.
  • They have some of the most unique wines in the finger lakes. They are our favorite winery. Been going there for years. Always look forward to a bottle of their wine. Great tasting room and always friendly. Give them a try. You will love it.
