Caladesi Island State Park, Dunedin

#2 of 39 in Things to do in Dunedin
Island · Beach
Caladesi Island State Park is one of the rare, completely natural Florida's islands in the Gulf and has a great beach. Accessible by boat or ferry, the park features a nature trail as well as picnic tables, pavilions, and a playground. You'll find a snack bar and a gift shop on-site. Hike the 5 km (3 mi) of trails and watch for birds feeding around the shallow waters. With a bit of luck, you may see turtles and tortoises. You can try kayaking through mangroves and in the bay. • We kayaked over from the Causeway. Had a good time walking the beach and picking up shells. Enjoyed the lack of other folks and just spending time on the beach and in the water. Worth the trip over!  more »
  • Beautiful, by any standard. Deserves the title of "Best beach in America". Very little shade. Suggest you take your own umbrella and chairs as the rental ones are quite expensive.  more »
  • My favorite spot to visit. Great ferry ride. Beautiful beach. Gentle water. Great snorkeling. When I have been there, it is not crowded. A great memorable time.
  • Amazing Bahamas I'm our back yard
