Take a turn along the many trails of Purgatory Resort amid the rugged San Juan Mountains. Ten ski lifts and 88 trails mean you'll rarely find lines for the slopes. The extraordinary amount of snowfall here--averaging 6.7 m (22 ft) per year--ensures that the slopes are well-supplied. At the summit at 3,299 m (10,822 ft), you'll be rewarded with views of peaks and bowls etched with evergreens and aspen trees. The resort's ominous nickname, Purgatory, comes from the name of the creek that runs through the region. Plan my trip to Durango with suggested itineraries provided by Inspirock.

Fun reminds me of some places out of Reno area. The youngest one of the party spent the day running the Columbine lift. I went with and ran through the trees. Good staff, friendly. This trip was between snows and the way they ride wax their boards was too fast for them. Flow was good though the morning was packed. After a day of warm sun though the afternoon runs where nice and smooth. The littlest one now wants to know when we are coming back.

I love this place so much. My husband and I went skiing for one day and I was amazed by this beautiful place and lovely people. It was my first time skiing so I got a ski lesson the first day and I was so fortunate to have Mel as my ski instructor. She was so patience and easy to work with. I would fall several times and she would come and help me. I spent half of my day with Mel and it was worth it. She is a big motivator. Keep it up girl. Thank you so much for your help Mel.
