Tawas Point State Park is a public recreation area located on Lake Huron in Northern Michigan near the city of East Tawas, Michigan. The state park encompasses 183 acres (74 ha) at the end of a sand spit that forms Tawas Bay. It has been referred to as the "Cape Cod of the Midwest" and is a notable bird-watching site. The park is home to the Tawas Point Light, which, although it has been remodeled several times, serves as the sole representative of a true Victorian-era style station built on the Great Lakes.

  • Beach was beautiful! We sat on the bench for a while! Gorgeous view! Brought back special memories when my parents were still alive and we were here together!

  • Nice campground with lots to do! Our site was large and shaded by a huge tree. Bathrooms were clean, showers were always busy. Quiet at 10pm until 8am.. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the point! The lighthouse was awesome and we missed the tour. Tour was $5 adults $3 kids. Having our bikes was a great thing at this park!
  • Beautiful park with trails and informational signs telling the history of the area. Lighthouse tours from 12-4pm. You can still walk around the outside and enjoy the beach spaces without buying a tour. Nonresidents make sure you stop and get a recreational park pass at the entrance, $10/vehicle. If you're going to more than a few parks during your visit, get the annual pass. It's $36/year.
