The Orcas Island

Country Golf Club Story

Course Opened June 1962

The original 54-acre estate was homesteaded in the late 1800s and owned by the Blake family for 46 years until January 2007 when it was purchased by residents of Orcas Island to keep it from being sold to developers for home sites. In April 2009 The group sold the 49-acres the course is on to the Taylor family a long time island family and avid golfers.

Designed and built in 1960, the course is reminiscent of old Scottish country clubs. Its concept took advantage of gentle rolling hills and natural water hazards to make play challenging for amateur and professional golfers alike.

The regulation 9-hole course, 4-tee format with 9 white tees, 18 blue tees (a front 9 blue tee and a back 9 blue tee on each hole), and 9 black tees. It including two long Par 5's and several challenging Par 4's. The course WSGA rating is 67.8/69.8 slope 115/115.

  • 18 holes with names and themes that are local to the San Juan's. A variety of fun, whimsy and difficulty. I especially love the 18th hole where a whale shoots a spout when your ball goes in.

  • Fun small island course. Not fancy, but interesting to play and pretty surroundings. One of the most fun things to do on the island.

  • It was my first time playing Mini Golf, it was easy to understand and all our party had a lot of fun. The course is a circuit with 18 holes/box with some challenging and creative obstacles. My favorite part was the boat box. We were a 7-adults-party, but had a lot of kids in other groups having a lot of fun, so I would recommend it for children.
  • Had a blast on the 18 hole course! Way way better than i expected. Course was in great shape and staff was as good as it gets. Will probably play twice in my 3 day stay! Be warned most of the holes share greens.
