Recently named Baseballparks.com Ballpark of the Year for 2014, Southwest University Park offers majestic views of the Franklin Mountains and Downtown El Paso Skyline. Designed by the architecture firm, Populous, the ballpark is situated on a little more than five acres of land.
Southwest University Park incorporates El Paso's rich history with its unique design. The red brick exterior resembles the nearby Union Depot and includes a box car-like façade and archways along the concourse.
Two buildings, the Santa Fe Pavilion and Big Dog House, adorn right field with hospitality areas for parties and individuals alike. The City Hall Grill, a tribute to what once stood on the site of the ballpark, and Sun Kings Saloon, a tribute to El Paso's baseball past, make up the Big Dog House while the open air floors of the Santa Fe Pavilion offer 360 degree views of the ballpark and the city.
Southwest University Park Reviews
First time I come to this stadium, to my surprise, I had a very good time. Very well kept venue, clean, good food and I got to see fireworks from the 4th raw. more »
Drove from Colorado to the All star game. The field was beautiful, concessions were priced Right. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The extras going on entertained the little ones. more »
Great experience every time! Cheap tickets, good seat, great crowd. $2.00 beer and hot dog nights say what! Merchandise shop has some cool things. 3rd base side, you will be out of the sun and near the players dugout. The outfield section is cool also. Food is pricey but very good. Suggest to pregame at B-17 prior to the game for some oyster shooters.
Tickets are reasonably priced and the stadium has great views regardless of section. Section 120-122 closet to the field are where at lot of long time season ticket holders sit and it seems to create an extra din environment. The marketing team is great with the interactive fan experiences.
