Woodlawn is a 180-acre historic estate owned and maintained for public use by the Hancock County Trustees of Public Reservations. The Black House, a federal styled house, is open to the public from May to October. The grounds are open sunrise to sunset everyday.

  • Woodlawn is open in December with beautifully decorated trees done by local businesses. They also have tea on Wednesday and Friday. Everything in the gift shop was 20 to 40% off. We both enjoyed.....  more »
  • A 45 minute self guided audio tour talking about the Black family. The house might not seem like the historical mansions in Newport, Rhode Island, but it has the same amount of history. This location....  more »
  • Great place to visit for the family. They have different events happening throughout the year. We love snow sledding on the big front lawn as well.
