  • Parvin State Park has been a wonderful place for me for the past 25 years. Fishing, canoeing, swimming. It's kinda dated, but as you can see it's absolutely gorgeous. Check out Ant's kayaks and canoes for rentals; prices were a bit steep but the service was good, and the lake was crystal clear. They had a little a refreshment shack there that covered the basics. Overall, a great family day. Have not done any camping there since it's only 30 minutes from where I grew up.
  • I walked for about 20 minutes along the Parvin Lake Trail. It was very easy to find and it is free and open to the public. I was really impressed with the width of the trail and how well-kept it appeared to be. It was pretty hot and humid outside but I was comfortable under the canopy of trees. I saw only one other couple and another small group so most of the time it was fairly quiet except for the cars that could be heard from the road. I am looking forward to exploring more trails with my grandsons.
