  • Trails were a little confusing, but we had a great short hike around the lake. We looked for the fire tower but it was closed. The topography is beautiful!

  • What a lovely and unique place! This was a fun educational visit for a Sunday afternoon walk! The park is huge and there is an abundance of parking throughout. There are paved trails as well as unpaved, marked trails through the wooded areas which have an added bonus of designated disk golf areas which is super fun! (Disks not provided) The parks are dog friendly and also have playgrounds for kids and a large selection of picnic tables and a giant pool near the lake. There are designated docks for boating and fishing around the lake as well. You can also camp in the designated camping areas. My favorite part of this park however was the old village! You can walk inside every building and they're staged and everything! The old coal well and the water wheel were just the coolest. I think this would be an amazing place to bring kids of all ages just to explore together or even just by yourself! It's a great spot that is a multi-visit site!
  • We came here for New Years as it was one of the only campgrounds around that was open at the time. They open 1 loop only and by the time we showed up 97% of the loop was booked. The campground was clean. Bathrooms were open and operational. They were warm and the showers were nice and hot. Some spots little closer to each other, other a bit more spaced out. Not sure if it was due to a holiday but when we were there the campground was self operational. No one was at the front. We did see some maintenance crew come through and a ranger but only once. No wood or or any type of store at the campground. But there arw locals selling wood right at the entrance of the park $5/bundle. The park also offers very nice group sites that are more private during regular season. It has a lake and a playground. A hole lot of hiking trails all around. We even noticed some tent campsites right off the trails. Over all its a very nice park at a very reasonable rate we will definitely come back here during summer time
