  • This shrine was just gorgeous as expected. The grounds are highly and beautifully manicured, the building is clean, air conditioned and handicap accessible. We didn't take the paid tour and historical component but we were able to visit the church free. The gift shop was small but we were able to purchase items. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton was a teacher and founder of Catholic schools. The cemetery was beautiful as 99.9% of the simple, yet beautiful headstones were for nuns. The oldest one was from 1821. This Shrine was interesting since my grands go to a Catholic school and my daughter is a principal at a Catholic HS.
  • Amazing. Beautiful. Is there really a proper adjective to describe it? I stopped on a trip recently and I'm so glad I did. The basilica is awe-inspiring. It was the first time I've ever visited the final resting place of a saint and knowing I'm standing very near the remains of someone who is surely in heaven. I wish I had more time to closely read the exhibits. The gift shop has a wonderful collection of sacramentals, books, and other religious matter. I will definitely visit again.
