Mitchell Caverns, Essex

It's a long drive to get here, but the view from the visitor center is amazing. The tour started promptly on time and I had a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. It was a small tour group which was nice. There is a smooth trail to get to the cave entrance. The entire experience is well lit, so you're able to get some good pictures of the inside. I had a great time!

We took our daughter there on Feb. 11th, since she didn't have school; the weather was perfect and the tour group was small. The views on the hike were amazing and we learned a lot about the area surrounding the caverns. Our guide (I forgot to get her name) was awesome, very informative and engaging, so if you have questions, she is more than happy to answer them. The caverns are simply a sight to see, everywhere you look is a cool formation. I chose to be the last person to help with the lights and used that time to just take everything in. The tour isn't that long, but you can roam around the area outside after it's over and explore. It was a fun experience and I'm glad we did it; now onto the next cavern. ;)
