Mitchell Caverns, within the Mitchell Caverns Natural Preserve, is a pair of solution limestone caves, located on the east side of the Providence Mountains at an elevation of 4,300 feet (1,300 m), within the Providence Mountains State Recreation Area. It is located in the Mojave Desert, in San Bernardino County, California.

  • . It is about 25 miles off Interstate 40. Last 6 miles a little rough. Cost to park plus for the tour. Tour is worth the money. Guide was excellent and informative. Walkway to the cavern entrance is easy with a few steps along the way
  • Hard to get a reservation and a long drive, but we'll worth it. The cave system is small but beautiful with great lighting. Very informative tour. An easy hike.
