  • This place is so cool!! The nicest staff and birds of prey from all over the Willamette Valley. I had no idea just how amazing these creatures really are, and seeing them close up is a mind blowing....  more

  • We had a great time learning about the Birds of Prey housed at the Cascades Raptor Center. Since they are unable to be reintroduced to their wild habits these birds spend their day being ambassadors to their species and teaching the public about the importance of protecting and interacting appropriately with the natural world. As you would expect, all the bird exhibits are outside so you'll want to plan your trip accordingly. In my opinion 2 hours was plenty of time to see everything. For a better experience consider checking out their website before you go!
  • What a great and easy thing to do around town. Fun and educational, in a pretty setting. It is a great option for a family activity... and you're supporting a great center! I haven't been back in a while but will be going again. Also, they and other resources around town are great if you need advice on or somewhere to take a wild bird in need of help. The last bird I had that needed help was a duck... they don't handle waterfowl there, but they helped by getting my neighborhood duck up to Chemeketa for treatment when my car was in the shop, so I couldn't make the trip myself. It took a few weeks but the duck made it! I was able to release her back into my neighborhood. If it weren't for the initial help I received from the raptor center, I would have lost my littlest neighbor. They've been great help with other birds as well. PS: Do not bring your dog whatsoever! Do not even leave your dog in the car in the parking lot, as even this can cause unnecessary stress to the resident birds. It's their home, so let's keep them feeling safe...
