The Gardens were first organized in 1991. Its Lost Coast Brewery Native Plant Garden has an emphasis on the Humboldt region, but includes plants in the geographic area from the Rogue River to the north shore of San Francisco Bay, and inland to a north-south line running from Vacaville through Williams, Redding, Yreka, Medford, and along the Rogue River to its mouth. The Gardens are particularly interested in maintaining complete native conifer, Iris and Lilium occidentale (western lily) collections.

The Humboldt garden is fairly new as botanical gardens go, but it has a lot going for it: an easily accessible location with plenty of free parking, a beautiful hillside location, and a cadre of... more »
Wonderful grounds! We were there for an outdoor concert. While there, we saw a fantastic Monarch butterfly exhibit. The rose garden and all the rest of this peaceful place are well with a special visit.
this place is a treasure in many ways. The reason for the three star review is the lack of accessibility on the trails and the lack of signage in the gardens.I walked by several flowers that I would have loved to know the name of but there were no signs available.the garden is large and fine if you can walk but if you're in a wheelchair or pushing a stroller you will miss most of it. I think that needs to be fixed.
