  • Since it was free Friday I probably shouldn't complain. I would not want to pay there admission fee as they have little to offer. The science area was non existent. There were some fantastic Biblical and 16th century paintings.
  • The Evansville museum is a nice museum. It’s got plenty to see and do to fill about 2-3 hours of your time. The exhibits are nicely done, and much of it is very interesting. However, there are a few reasons why I couldn’t give it 5 stars. Our family travels quite a lot, and for a city of Evansville’s size the museum could be bigger and offer more. About half the museum is art in painting/wall art format which is also kind of a bummer. While I love paintings, my children generally find so many paintings overwhelmingly boring. Thus, the science area downstairs should be expanded, probably even doubled in size to keep the engagement of their younger patrons. The train museum across the parking lot that is part of your admission is very cool. Definitely worth the few extra dollars to see it if you’ve never seen an old train. If you have, you can skip it. The only other issue I have is admission prices. They’ve gone up quite a bit in the last few years and I understand that somewhat, but I still find that it’s a hair too pricey for what it is. Overall I would recommend going here at least once to see the rich history of Evansville, but it could use a few improvements.
