  • Nice place to find manatees and American saltwater crocodiles. Unfortunately, the visitor center is currently under construction due to the recent hurricane activity and a temp location is set up in the parking lot. So you're going to miss out on the usual displays, info and the restaurant that used to be located there. Basically, until construction is finished, plan to go only if you're interested in boating and wildlife.
  • Very abandoned during weekdays. Maybe 20 people total. I rented kayak, $25 for 2 hrs. Meet another two kayaks during the 2 hrs! That's it. Very serene. Besides 3 motor boats. Manatees are right in the harbor, drinking fresh water from the pier. The food is very expensive. Bring your own.
