Good place to go biking! A 15-mile paved loop. It's best to bring your own bikes. Rentals will cost around $20. You may also choose to ride the tram for some fee, around $27. I love that there are tons of wildlife on the west side of the trail especially in winter. There is an observation tower halfway of the bike loop. Don't miss it out! It's a great way to view the vast wetlands. There are also short walking trails along the way under a few canopies of trees. Other things to note, parking fee is $30 and is good for 7 days. Restrooms and vending machines are located at the entrance. Please bear in mind that since this is the everglades, there are no shades the entire ride/walk so sunscreen and water bottles are a must. On the upside, you'll get tanned after exploring.
Clean and convenient visitor center which offers all necessary services to explore this part of the Everglades. You can use the bathrooms, rent bicycles, buy food and souvenirs, and just relax in the A/C. Shark Valley itself is easy to explore either with the tram tour or with your own bicycle. There are tons of wildlife sightings and the observation tower is fun to go up, as well! Recommendation: Come in the cooler months either earlier in the morning or later in the evening to maximize alligator sightings...
