Black Spruce Dog Sledding Reviews
We planned a dog sledding trip with another company but they had to cancel because of the "melt" and how fortunate we were to find Black Spruce! Mandy was our guide and she was a true dog lover and sh... more »

Riley was terrific! Jeff is currently off in the iditarod so when we showed up Riley was at my car and so excited to meet us and show off his dogs. They were all so amazing. (Juice and Neptune were the sweetest) Every dog was so happy, he was so good with them. After a quick lesson on how to ride the sled we were off... and once we got on the trail, WOW! The views and the scenery is amazing. Definitely checked off a bucket list item today!!
Black spruce is an excellent option for the thrill seeker who desires the epic experience of dog sledding. Tucked far back in the hills of Fairbanks, the property and surrounding views were phenomenal. To add, the experience was one of a kind. First we got to meet the dogs and learn about their every day life’s and training as sled dogs. Our tour guide Riley was outstanding and was so personable and fun. He gave us all the details and ins and outs of dog sledding and the lives of a sled dog and musher. He let us harness the dogs and trained us to mush. Then we hit the trail and got to experience first hand what it’s like to see the dogs in action and feel the refreshing air on your face as your sled glides through the snow! I had an absolute blast and now I wish I had access and ability to experience this daily! We saw animal tracks and heard awesome stories along the trail. Riley also helped take lots of photos and videos of the experience. I highly recommend Black Spruce dog sledding and Riley as your tour guide. I plan to enjoy this experience again! Good luck to Jeff in the 2018 Iditarod!!!
