A good start on a work in progress, the Rock Island Railroad Depot will be something for Fairbury and Jefferson County to be proud of as it grows. The ladies there were very nice and knowledgeable. A collector has donated 30-some large boxes of model trains and related equipment which will be displayed in a room currently being renovated on the 2nd floor. It should be impressive when finished. There's a modern working elevator for easy access.

Great historic site. Seeing this depot really ties Fairbury together. Happened to be in town the evening a special train engine was visiting and experienced the spectacle of train enthusiasts enjoying a look at a rare piece of equipment.
