Marvel at the world's largest collection of World War II naval vessels at Battleship Cove, home to an array of submarines and ships of different classes. Visit the museum and admire its collection of fighting craft floating in the harbor. Wander its indoor exhibits to learn more about the engagements the ships and their crew participated in, their experiences, and their postwar histories. Don't miss the museum's crowning glory, the USS Massachusetts, a South Dakota-class battleship that fought battles across the world during World War II--one of the few survivors of its kind. You can even climb aboard to see the vessel up-close for yourself. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Fall River holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Battleship Cove and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Lots of great history to look at from a few generations of military units and different platforms. The USS Massachusetts most definitely needs some TLC the problem is that there is not enough funding ...  more »
  • The PT boats and memorabilia are the unique pieces in this museum. The Warsaw Pact vessel might be unique as well. You can visit other battleships, destroyers and submarines around the United States. ...  more »

  • An excellent piece of history, thankfully preserved and not scrapped by the Navy. Well maintained over time. Great to see how the staff is proud of being a part of it. I recommend the school or scout sleepovers - have done it several times. For stayovers, get a top bunk, bring ear plugs and sleep mask. It's a great opportunity.
  • **rating edited as to reflect Beth willing to offer passes to another overnight or family day passes. Hoping for a better experience, as my son wants so badly to enjoy Battleship Cove. My son was so excited for his trip, he talked about it for months. The power went out, which is out of their control, yes, but protocol was not in place. Everyone was told to stand on deck in the cold. Around 8 PM a staff member said they were setting up an area inside that would be ready in 10 minutes and then never came back up. Around 8:45 my son was freezing and exhausted to went to wait in the car until 9 when the power was supposedly going to be back on. At 9 there was still no power and no interior place offered to go in, if there was, the "Talented staff" on deck never mentioned it to those standing out in the cold at this time. At 9:30 the power was still not on. Upon getting his things from the bunk area, no lighted interior was seen or offered by staff. Left to drive 3 hours back home at 9:40 when power was still not on. Staff said they could not issue refunds and would have to call Beth during the week. Conveniently, the phone is not picked up and the voicemail is full. $140 for two people to watch an introduction video, eat spaghetti, and freeze is insane. This is so wrong, especially when concerning small children. We expect a refund.
