  • Wonderful nature walk in the city but away from everything. Very relaxing escape, from city life. Need to drive there as it’s pretty far away in Far Rockaway

  • 1.5 mile loop is the main trail. You walk around the West Pond and see all kinds of birds in a natural setting. The rest of the trail is through a forest. If you feel adventurous, cross the street and check out the East Pond. Tons of birds there and you can walk for miles. Big parking lot, visitor center, bus stop right in front and the A train station is a 12 minute walk away. Great place.
  • A gem in New York City. A nature preserve with lots of waterfowl, seaonally migratory birds and beautiful vegetation. The walkways are well maintained. The National Park Service organizes fun events for families and adults year-round.
