Experience community life in early Industrial America at Allaire State Park, which includes a 19th-century village and historical railroad. The railroad runs weekend trains through the park, offering a relaxing tour of the hills and forests. Take a look at 19th-century ironworks in the village and tour its original general store, forge, carpenter's shop, foreman's house, and church. Consider bringing barbecue supplies to take advantage of the charcoal grills and picnic tables. Campgrounds and restrooms are on site. Allaire State Park reviews
A trip to see the train for our first visit. We will go back to do some more exploring in the Fall and hopefully everything will be open. Not crowded at all plenty of room to social distance and not..... more »
Underestimated energy efficiency of Shelter, wound up using too much wood & had to open windows to get tolerable temperature. more »
My family always enjoys Allaire. We went during their car show, which is always a special treat. We saw a hundred vintage and antique cars, got a ride on the train, and went for a little hike around Allaire village. A lot to see in a beautiful state park! This park always seems to have a steady crowd, as more parents understand how important our early state and national heritage truly is.
Went here to take engagement photos of my friends. There were wooded trails, open fields, historic buildings with volunteers dressed for the time period, a pond and a train/train yard. There were so many places for us to take photos and enjoy being outside. I would recommend for easy hiking trails, biking, picnics, etc. Very beautiful place.
