  • Water views with Christmas lights dancing and sparkling was worth visiting! We took our grandkids, who had been there many times before.

  • Sweet small park organized around an artificial creek. Includes picnic pavilion for larger groups as well as individual picnic tables and porch swings set up alongside the Elk River itself (accessed via a walkway that goes under the highway). There is now a small stage used for events like the Music in the Park Thursday-night series every July. Good paved walking path (not quite wide enough for 2, unfortunately, is about 1/3 mile & wheelchair accessible.
  • I just had an amazing experience at this park. I was sitting in my car in the shade with the windows down when a cute little duck came right up to my door squawking at me. I hung up on my call and got out of the car. The duck started walking towards the pond and kept looking back at me, so I followed. This cute little duck led me right to the duck food dispenser along with several of her duck friends. I am so thankful that I had a few quarters in my pocket and proceeded to drop some pellets from the machine, on to the ground. I have never had such a personal experience with a duck. When she finished eating all of the pellets, sharing a few with her friends, she followed me back to my car and laid down in the shade for a nap. Amazing!! While I was feeding the ducks, there were people fishing, sitting on the swinging seats and walking with their pets. There is lots of shade and places to sit and enjoy the history and beauty that is all around you. Highly recommend to everyone!!
