Dash Point State Park is a 398-acre (161 ha) Washington state park on Puget Sound that straddles the line between King and Pierce counties. The park has over 3,300 feet (1,000 m) of shoreline, 140 campsites, 11 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, and offers beachcombing, fishing, swimming, birdwatching, windsurfing, skimboarding, and wildlife viewing. Dash Point is located across Commencement Bay from downtown Tacoma.

    Our daughter invited us to go to the park with her and her kids (4 fun grandchildren). It was a nice day so why not? This park is not exactly easy to find but your GPS will show the way. If you don't....  more »

    On a very hot August day, this waterfront park works for the whole family. Water to splash in or cool off in, bathrooms, picnic tables, rustic wooded shade and a place to even dig clams. If you need.....  more »

    Camping was super fun, but the most fun was on the beach in the morning. The tide was so far out. There are so many sand dollars, alive and dead, carefully where you walk, you don't wanna crush them. I have never in my life seen hundreds of sand dollars anywhere. Its was fascinating to just be there and be present. You will love it.

    The sand is like pudding, it's so much fun to play with. It seems like a lot of families enjoy coming together, with toys and tools for digging up clams. There's a small stream that flows from the forest onto the beach that carves grooves into the malleable sand. There are also trails, a picnic area, and a bathroom on site. A discover pass is normally required to park (sometimes there are free access days)
