Defined by wine and water, the Finger Lakes region includes 11 elongated bodies of water spread over 130 km (80 mi) of rolling countryside in the northern section of the state of New York. In addition to the picturesque waterways, the Finger Lakes' main vacation attraction is its more than 100 wineries: the area is a top wine region, often referred to as the East Coast's answer to California's Napa Valley.
