George Crosby Manitou State Park, Finland

My personal favorite state park in MN. Fun hike in camping spots on the river. Number 6 on the mountain top is also very cool although can get exposed to weather easier.

Backpackers paradise. I knew I was in for a a great few nights when we had to drive several miles down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere to even get to the park entrance. If you aren't ready to climb some old rough stairs, and climb over some large river stones then be sure not to get any sites further back than 10 or so. The hike along the river where most of the camping sites are located is pure paradise. And somehow the rangers managed to get fire rings and toilets out to the camp sites (I have no idea how they managed this, had to be by chopper) but our site #15 had easy access to a vault toilet, and a fire ring. Loved our time here, we will be back.
