We enjoyed our visit. The trails are pet friendly! The gift shop is very interesting and the gentleman was super friendly. They have a very small campground there. It is nothing fancy, but the price is awesome! We stayed 5 nights so we could enjoy the area.

Nice informative trail to learn about petrified wood. Spent about 1-1.5 hrs there to walk through the forest, visit museum and gift shop. Beware of the bugs. They have bug spray at the beginning of the trail. I didn't use it and then got several big bug bites (never saw what was biting me). Thankfully they quickly disappeared within hours. The trail is short but very pretty with several numbered spots where you can read information in your booklet they give you. $7/adult. Some discounts like AAA are available.
