  • Beautiful little zoo in the middle of queens. Animals are well kept and it's very nice and peaceful there. It is not too well known and due to construction, it's hard to find so that isnt any crowd. Animals look very healthy and happy. The kicks: Bold eagles, two rescued eagles that aren't caged. Bird sanctuary where you can see all the beautiful birds flying around and you can see them up close and walk up to the walkway and see the birds from above. Only 9 bucks per person and children under 3 gets in for free. Ample free parking in the park and in the street.
  • Cute and small local zoo in Flushing Meadows. The zoo has an intimate atmosphere with foliage surrounding all the paths and exhibits, which allows you to focus on the animal you are observing. The zoo does lack some unique personality on the information cards and exhibit signs, as they just provide information and have the park logo. However, it is very affordable at $10 for adults and is a great way to spend a couple hours on a nice afternoon.
