From the parking lot, head up to the left to find the signs and the visitors center. Stop in there first before touring to get maps, Junior Ranger booklets and more! Some houses look closed but the doors are hidden around back so be sure to walk all the way around buildings! Great picnic area right by the very clean latrines near the parking lot. We had a great time! (don't miss the Iron Bridge on your way back out)

Awesome stop! It is amazing how military bases have not changed much since over 100 years ago! It was amazing to see the artifacts, ruins, and inside some of the buildings. The buildings still standing are amazing! I loved seeing this piece of US history in person.
