Create an itinerary including Bonnet House Museum and Gardens
Built in 1920, Bonnet House Museum and Gardens centers around a plantation-style building featured on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Once the winter home of Frederic Clay Bartlett and his wife Helen, it is now the residence of two American artists, but it remains open to the public. Inside you'll find the art collection and personal items from the original owners. The gardens feature five different ecosystems. Look for exotic parrots, cockatiels, and swans in the aviary, while the grounds showcase wild squirrel monkeys, gopher tortoises, and manatees. • Bonett house is an oasis in the middle of busy busy Fort Lauderdale. The story of it's being established and the beauty there make it a must see. Sid is a fountain of good info delivered engagingly.

  • I visited on a sunny weekday in mid May. The place was not crowded. The staff members were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed visiting each room, seeing the artwork, fountain and grounds. The orchids were lovely. I also enjoyed cooling off with an ice cream treat at the end of the tour.
  • The house and garden are very beautiful! The staff was very kind and helpful. Tickets for adults are $20. The only thing that could be improved is I thought the video explaining the history of the house was a little too long.
