We-Ko-Pa Golf Club, Fort McDowell

#4 of 142 in Golf in Arizona
We-Ko-Pa Golf Club is a daily fee golf facility that consists of the original 18 holes, the Cholla course, designed by Scott Miller. A second 18 holes, the Saguaro course, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw is also open for play. The outstanding facilities opened for business in December 2001. In addition to the two 18-hole courses, there is a large practice facility and a full service clubhouse. We-Ko-Pa Golf Club has been developed and is owned by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

Located just east of Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, the two courses and associated facilities are on land that will never be used for residential or commercial development, yielding dramatic views of the Sonoran desert and the surrounding mountains.

  • Our group of golfers heads to PHX every year and we have never missed a year playing WeKoPa. I cannot pick a favorite in that each 18 has its high points and I would be happy if I could only play...  more »
  • One of our favorite outdoor lunch spots in Fountain Hills. Great ambiance. A nice place to kick back and enjoy a delicious lunch. The portions aren't light, so come hungry. And their fish tacos are excellent but their sweet potato fries are even better. Menu is varied and consistently well prepared with very generous portions. Service can be a little inconsistent and slow. Just don't go if you have a plane to catch. But overall it's a great desert experience and great value.
  • This course never disappoints. From the tee box thru the green, everything is manicured to perfection. The range and practice area are as good as it gets. If you are looking for the "total golfing experience," this is it.
