  • Fun place to learn and explore. Located on the corner of Mobile Bay and the Gulf beach. You can imbibe inside the fort and walk back through the old chambers. This gives a feel for how difficult the conditions were. There is a nice spot to walk out on the bay side beach and see some natural beach. A couple precautions are you will need to climb on old steps for the best sites and they close at 5. We spent about 3 hours and saw everything very thoroughly. Not equipped for wheel chairs or scooters.
  • We love the historic sites and really enjoyed this one. The weather was windy and cold but a great experience. The water views were spectacular. Didn't get to take the ferry to Dauphin Island so we will go back and enjoy the fort again on our next visit
