Built at the birthplace of the U.S. Navy Frogmen, Navy Seal Museum houses exhibits that illustrate the role and history of underwater demolition teams and Sea, Air, Land teams (U.S. Navy SEALs)--one of the most elite fighting forces in the world. From 1943 to 1946, soldiers were trained at the site. Visit the museum to see artifacts and exhibits, such as the original obstacles from the Normandy landing preparatory trainings, boats used in Korea and Vietnam, vehicles from the Middle East, and a wall honoring Medal of Honor recipients. The museum was a fantastic experience. It's not the biggest, but each item and exhibit was authentic and high quality. Extra points if you are able to speak to some of the workers regarding the origin stories of some of the pieces. There is a military discount for veterans and active duty. The grounds outside the building also have really great exhibits. To cap it off, you can walk from the parking lot to the beach and enjoy some fun and sun all in one visit

Being a Navy Veteran, this place has been on my list for a while. I finally got the opportunity to go today. (9/3/22) It's an INCREDIBLE experience. A very well laid out museum with tons to see and interact with. It really brought back a lot of memories for me. If you are planning on going, set aside a GOOD block of time. Also try to go when the weather is good because there is a lot to see outside on the grounds as well. Just an overall incredible experience. I look forward to going back, hopefully with friends and share all the history contained therein.
