The US Army Field Artillery & Fort Sill Museum was established by direction of the Chief of Field Artillery on December 10, 1934 and formally opened in January 1935. The dual mission of preserving the history of both the Field Artillery and of Fort Sill was identified from the beginning. Captain Harry C. Larter, a Field Artilleryman, military artist, and historian was the first curator.

  • A mandatory thorough check in at the base visitor center was an eye opener. Many artillery weapons on display along with tributes to the soldiers who paid the ultimate price. Very touching. 3 museums ...  more »

  • A lot of history here. A lot to see once on base. The old museum has a lot of cool artifacts. Is was very cool also to be able to drive around the base and see the old home and the difference between the old and new structures.
  • Historic pristine 150+ year old buildings of an frontier post. Awesome!!
