The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department entered the “farming business” in 1995 when Chris Salomon and his daughter, Lynn, presented the Department with a very generous gift -- the family farm. Located on the north side of Fort Wayne in an area of rapid development, the 170-acre park provides not only much needed green space, but a glimpse of life on the farm, asPlan your visit to Salomon Farm Park and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Fort Wayne trip itinerary planner.
In keeping with the Salomons’ wishes, the park remains a working farm. When complete, the park will feature demonstration plots utilizing farming methods popular in the 1930s. Period equipment
is being obtained for authenticity. Small animals such as chickens, goats, donkeys and sheep live on the farm during the summer months and heirloom vegetables and herbs are grown in the garden. Special events and programs such as the Fall Harvest Festival, the Fiber Arts Celebration, the Farmin’ Fun summer day camp, Salomon Farmers' Market and numerous workshops and classes provide opportunities for education as well as recreation and entertainment
throughout the year. You are invited to visit the Farm Park any time, in accordance with the park rules.

I love going here in the winter and spring to enjoy the tropical atmosphere. Makes winter seem a little shorter! more »
Fantastic venue. Loved the fall festival! Excellent job by the volunteers and companies that put this festival on. What a great place for our son to learn from. Safe, clean, organized, well thought out. What more could you ask for!?
This was such a lovely venue! I have to say that I was a bit apprehensive when I heard the wedding I was planning to attend here would be in an old barn on a 90° day, but it was so open and airy (four giant slide open doorways with big fans) that the breeze made it quite comfortable, considering the heat. It was beautiful all the way around and I loved seeing the goats nearby. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a venue with a perfect country charm and lots of history behind it. You certainly won’t be disappointed!
