Fort Worth Zoo was founded in 1909 with just a handful of animals, making it the oldest zoo in Texas. Today the zoo has been ranked as the fifth best in the country by USA Travel Guide and is home to almost 7,000 animals. You can discover an array of exotic creatures, such as penguins, Asian elephants, chimpanzees, poison dart frogs, and parrots, as well as see an extensive collection of native Texan species. To view aquatic animals, visit the Great Barrier Reef exhibit. The zoo features a number of rides and activities, including a carousel, rock-climbing tower, and hurricane and tornado simulators. Came here on a Saturday around 3pm. Parking was $5 just right outside the main entrance and there were plenty of spots. Tickets that day were $18 for adult at the gate, and $17 if you buy it online. This zoo was pretty nice and was extremely family friendly. There were attractions for kids and adults so it's suitable for all age groups. A good variety of animals at this zoo. They had a petting zoo which was fun. I enjoyed the giraffes the most even though I did not get a chance to feed them. I enjoyed my time here.

Was an amazing experience at the Fort Worth Zoo! Went with my mom and my sister and we had so much fun. There's lots to explore and so much to see even though some of the exhibits were closed due to expanding some of the habitats. We went on a Saturday during nice weather and it was crowded. We rode the train and went to the Stingray area. Saw all the animals that were out and all three of us enjoyed the experience. We will be going back when the other animals are back and would recommend you go enjoy the experience. Before we left we all got cute animal plushies and a back for them to commemorate our time we spent there at the zoo.
