  • Drove into town specifically to visit Cowee Gift Shop and Mine. It did NOT disappoint. We spent over 4 hours going through the native buckets and then purchased one saltes bucket when our 6-year-old ran out of patience. The staff is very helpful. We were thrilled with our finds. We are over 2 hours away but will definitely make another trip out!
  • My family and friends make it a point to visit Mason Mountain Mine at least once a year. (Wow it has been 14 yrs+ now). We have tried other mines in Mason County but always end up coming back there. We have had many great gems cut and set into pendants. One of my favorites was cut from a 12ct rhodolite. Also, I like the fact that they have both "salted" and "native" buckets to choose from, it keeps the kids entertained. Us adults like digging our own from the pile.
