  • This was a really interesting and engaging vistor's center, and that's coming from someone who is *not* a huge war history buff. The staff were incredibly kind - chatted with us about our visit gave local recommendations, and were very thorough in making sure we got the most out of our experience overall. The information booklets are also thorough and very user friendly. The museum aspects were well constructed and easy to follow. The walking trail was also well marked and full of interesting information. The movie about the site is shown in the visitors center every half hour and was very interesting and well made. Restrooms were clean. This is worth a stop if you're hanging out in Fredericksburg and like museums, civil war history, or a nice walk.
  • The Fredericksburg Battlefield visitors center Park Rangers gave us some great info and tips for exploring all of the areas where the battles took place. The Sunken Road is a trail outside the visitor center that is extremely interesting concerning the battle around the city. Four major battles within a radius of 17 miles were responsible for a loss of over 105,000 lives. It's estimated that 10,000 bullets were fired in one minute. The gift shop is also worth the stop for souvenirs.
