Welcome to Depot Park, the junction of past and future located in middle of Gainesville’s Downtown.

What was once contaminated earth, the residue from the site’s history as a rail yard, is now a blooming field of wildflowers and native plantings lined by decorative tracks that commemorate this former railroad transportation hub.

The vision for Depot Park was to create a contemporary public greenspace to serve as Gainesville’s “Central Park”. To be a signature city park located downtown and provide a space for public outdoor enjoyment unique to the city.

There is no charge to play at Depot Park.

  • Really nice park for the kids. Splash pad, multiple play grounds and a cool little sand pit. Kids had a blast. I didn't get to check out the shop, but it looked worth a go. The only issue we had was the limited parking in the main parking lot, but there is a huge parking lot just around the corner that isn't clearly marked. Overall an exceptional park.
  • Visiting from the Arctic of Wisconsin and 100% jealous of this park. Places for parents to sit + sun shades. Lots of unique climbing structures, enough swings, fast slides and prompts to provoke imaginative play. Nice little trail to stretch your legs by the water too. Clean, open air restrooms.
