Complete with accommodations, a golf course, and science center, Moody Gardens combines recreation with an extensive collection of zoo and aquarium exhibits. Spread out over 98 hectares (242 acres), the park hosts three attractions in the form of giant pyramids: the Aquarium pyramid, the Rainforest pyramid, and the Discovery pyramid, each focused on a different group of animal residents. You can wander amongst the living displays, home to more than 9,000 individual creatures. Don't miss seeing monkeys roaming free through the jungle habitat. For some outdoor fun, take the paddlewheel boat tour, or spend time on the hotel's white sand beach. If you're planning to golf, book a tee time beforehand, as spots can fill up very quickly. Use our Galveston trip maker to add Moody Gardens and other attractions to your Galveston vacation plans.

  • I’ve lived in Texas for a few years now, this was my first time going to Moody Gardens and it was so fun! We ended up doing the membership. $100 for the value pass versus $165 for the annual pass (online there was a discount which made the annual passes about $140). The holiday lights were lovely but some of the faces were a bit odd/mangled looking on the characters. Otherwise 10/10 on those ice sculptures. Insanely beautiful and they provided parkas for visitors to use. Literally the most beautiful display of ice sculpting that I’ve ever seen. Fun mini train, slide and skating rink for kids. The rainforest was lush and stunning. So peaceful. The aquarium was playful and delightful. The critters were very active and the facility was a great environment. We didn’t make it to the discovery museum this visit but definitely add this to your list of to-dos!
  • A must see amazing place. We did overnight camping with the scouts and had a tour of the aquarium. The aquarium is fantastic with diverse flora, fauna and aquatic creatures. We got to choose where we could sleep among three locations within the aquarium. The hosts were very great and provided an engaging and informative experience during the aquarium tour. 130$ for 2 adults and 2 kids under 12 for only the aquarium! It was about an hour
