Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum Reviews
This is an interesting look at the oil rigging business. There is a short movie as well. You can spend as long or as little time as you wish. There is a very nice little gift shop at the entrance... more »

This is a must stop if you like museums, models, science, engineering, boats, or simply want to sit and look at the Galveston Port. Even though it is a retired oil rig, most parts of the museum are wheelchair accessible. You may have some issues outside on the first floor and near the ticket booth/gift shop. I hope that they offer an alternative entrance. In addition, this is a Blue Star Museum for military families during the summer.
Really much more interesting and informative than I thought it would be. It is absolutely educational. I had no idea about most of it. Watch the movie, it is worth it. Must take a lot of man hours to keep it so well maintained. The exhibits are well planned and easy to learn from.
