Buie has been creating colorful, functional and decorative handmade pottery since 1982. Her stoneware pieces are extremely durable and designed to be used and enjoyed everyday. Each piece is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. When using the baking dishes, please put in a cold oven.

Buie began throwing pottery at age 17 and has been having fun "slinging mud" ever since. She attended the University of Tennessee where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors in 1986. She started her own business and gallery in September of 1986. Throughout the years, she has been president of the historic Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community (the United States' largest concentration of artisans and crafts-people since 1941), a member of the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce, and has served on various committees and councils for her city & community. Buie is an avid Gatlinburg Garden Club member and supporter of the Smoky Mountain Area Rescue Ministry, Smoky Mountain Resort Ministry, and the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce.

  • I just received my dragonfly mug in mail today & I love it! We talked about how much I love dragonflies & color purple. So she offered to make me a unique mug with purple dragonflies. I picked out the size & the base glaze color. It is perfect! The purple glaze turned out better than what I expected. From what I have been told from potters is that purple is 1 of the hardest glazes to perfect & she did it!
  • The employees are always friendly and welcoming and the pottery here is just beautiful
