The butterfly garden is spectacular in late June. They have many new tropical butterflies. There is also a cool park, small splash pad, lake, silo, gift shop, animals and activities.

We visited in cold snowy Feb so my pictures aren't filled with the butterflies of everybody else's but I honestly really liked this place the way it was today. There were restrooms that were open, the house was open and the dude was really friendly. The silo was shut, and obviously so was the butterfly garden. My kids LOVED this playground, there was something for all three kids (5, 8, 9). The playground is wooden and has rope and bridge sections, there's a musical area, a hut, a dry river bed which I bet makes this place jammers in the summer when it's flowing. There are picnic tables, a small amphitheater around a fire pit, old barns and farming equipment to look at. We only did the short walk down to the frozen lake so I can't comment on the trails but it's flat prairie so you know exactly what you're gonna get lol. The house was a real treat. They have snakes, a box turtle, prairie dogs, a really nice little kids area, and a room filled with the history of Eli Peck's life and the land. We will definitely be back. One thing to note! I was there with a group and one thing that didn't occur to me as the kids I had with me are old enough to know better, but people with younger kids brought up the busy road right by the playground with a fence that definitely isn't substantial enough to be a deterrent to wandering toddlers.

It was a wonderful experience. So ethereal and magical. I think all the humans in there felt the same way.
