Red Eagle Distillery Reviews
Touring Ohio’s wine country earlier this week. Stayed at a lovely inn right down the road from this distillery. Very quaint place . Nice change from the wineries for a different type of drink! We enjo... more »
Really enjoyed our time at the distillery. Bourbon was good. Our server was very attentive to our party. more »
I only got to try the rye while I was there but the staff and building are awesome! I will say the rye was good. It had a strong finish in my opinion that threw me off at first but I liked it a lot. They seem to have four main products they make there: bourbon, rye, brandy, and a maple syrup whiskey (which is in the rum family I think). There's beer too and other mainstream whiskey available. I went in the late fall so I don't know what the outside atmosphere was like but the inside was solid. Not too noisy. It was comfy, very comfy. I live an hour away from this place and I'll definitely go back!
As Christmas approaches, I'm growing more anxious for my annual holiday trip to Red Eagle. My patronage began years ago, but a move out of state has limited my visits to once or twice a year. When I return home, I always insist my family takes me to Red Eagle. The Rye Whiskey is so delicious! On my palette, it has a small bite but clean finish. I'm a drinker of their bourbon too. I love lounging by the windows while enjoying my family's company, taking in the aroma of the woodwork and the wafts of spirits in the air. Between sips, I take in the view of the western horizon beyond the farmland and its deciduous backdrop. It's beautiful, especially when I catch a winter's sunset. My time here is always pure happiness. Thinking and writing about it makes me happy. And you know what? I don't mind the trip out back to the bathroom. It's full plumbing, clean and there is a groomed path to get there. And, it's a perfect opportunity to snap a selfie with the beautiful country scenery in the background. It's all part of the back country experience of Red Eagle, in their brilliant setting and tasty spirits.
