Old Friends at Dream Chase Farm, Georgetown

#1 of 13 in Things to do in Georgetown
Old Friends at Dream Chase Farm offers a chance to get up close and personal with stallions that once proudly galloped on the turfs of Kentucky Derby and similar horseracing tracks. Boston Globe film critic Michael Blowen founded this working farm, which serves as a home for "retired" and rescued thoroughbreds. Dress properly and put on sturdy shoes since you'll be walking on muddy and grassy ground. If you're bringing children, keep a close eye on them and don't let them feed or pet the horses without consulting the guide. • If it was possible I'd give it 100 stars! Beautiful place with amazing staff, exciting tours for the young and young at heart. Truly amazing and I cannot thank them enough. Really brings inspiration and joy to the hearts of those who come to visit from around the world. Completely reccomend this 100% if you are looking for a place to visit in Kentucky. We walked in the tour as strangers, and walked out with hearts full of happiness, and plenty of new, and old friends.
  • Amazing sanctuary for retired race horses. The farm is gorgeous in its own right and the 90 minute tour with Matthew was well worth it. A must do for Lexington. We'd recommend the 10am tour in the summertime as it's 100% outdoors and any later might be hot.
